John Richards returned to Shrewsbury golf club in 2008, where he began his golfing career as Junior Club champion, Junior County Champion and then captained both the club and county juniors.
He turned professional in 1990 and completed his training as a PGA professional at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Kent.

There he developed his skills as a golf coach. For the past 15 years John has been developing teaching programmes for beginners right through to some of the counties most advanced players.

Teaching Programme
John aims to aid in growing the number of golfers in the county and will be holding many classes for juniors and beginners as well coaching the established players.
At Shrewsbury Golf Club we have an excellent practice ground with an undercover teaching facility. We will be using the latest computerised video technology for the established players who may need to make slight alterations to their swing.
