Set in 120 acres of magnificent Shropshire countryside, Shrewsbury Golf Club offers members and visitors an impressive and challenging 18 hole course with panoramic views over the Stretton Hills, Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge.
Our Clubhouse provides that much needed relaxation space after a round of golf offering an after golf spike bar and an excellent value dining experience.
“Since its move from the outskirts of Shrewsbury to Condover just over 40 years ago, Shrewsbury Golf Club has blossomed into one of the most prestigious clubs in Shropshire and Herefordshire. It is nominally recognised as the “headquarters” of the County Union, which cherishes the opportunity to stage major amateur championships over what has developed into a very challenging golf course. The club has hosted, on a regular basis, the county boys, youths, amateur and open championships and most seasons is high on the list of the county captain when considering venues for Midland League matches. It was also chosen by the Midland Golf Union to host the Midland Mid-Amateur Championship in 2010 and in 2013 is playing an important part in the centenary celebrations of the County Union by kindly making its course available for two competitions embracing all clubs in Shropshire and Herefordshire – the Centenary Texas Scramble and the annual Cognac Trophy.”
Bob Davies, Shropshire & Herefordshire President 2013
“We always enjoy our annual match between the Church in Wales and Church of England clergy. The course, always in good condition, is a good challenge for players of varying ability. The food is excellent. The staff are very hospitable, friendly and helpful, always ready to go the extra mile. That we have been returning for 25 years tells its own story. ”
The Most Reverend Barry Morgan, Archbishop of Wales 2013
